This book chapter explores the critical topic of mental health support and well-being for students with special needs in the African context. Despite the growing awareness of mental health issues globally, there remains a significant gap in understanding and addressing the unique challenges faced by students with special needs on the African continent. This chapter aims to shed light on the current state of mental health support, highlight existing initiatives, and propose strategies for fostering the well-being of students with special needs in Africa. The mental health and well-being of students with special needs in Africa represent a critical yet often overlooked facet of inclusive education. This abstract explores the multifaceted challenges faced by this unique student population and emphasizes the importance of tailored mental health support within the African context. Drawing attention to the high prevalence of mental health challenges among students with special needs, the abstract underscores the impact on academic performance, social inclusion, and overall quality of life. Stigma, limited access to support services, and the intersectionality of challenges contribute to the complexity of addressing mental health needs in this population.Published
