Abstract

Tropical cyclones represent a substantial threat to humanity as they encompass a number of different hazards like moderate to high storm surges, flooding, extreme wind flow, tornadoes and lightning. Annually, an average of five to six tropical cyclones emerge in the Indian coastline, with the potential for two or three of them to be notably severe. Temporary structures serve as a pragmatic and fast solution for displacement and homelessness but must ensure protection and comfort. Design considerations include materials, shape, layout, roofs, openings, and wall strength against high winds. Effective methods for assembly and disassembly are crucial. This research is needed, in terms of working methods and planning the temporary build structures for cyclone prone areas need to be formulated and implemented so as to minimize the impact of cyclone damages and save people who are subjected to the high levels of vulnerability.
