A REVIEW OF OPEN EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES IN THE HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM

Abstract

Digital resources have been widely used in higher education for years, and open educational resources (OER) have proven invaluable for lifelong learning. These resources have made learning more accessible to people from all backgrounds and opened up new teaching and learning opportunities. However, they also present challenges to traditional education practices. This study thoroughly explores the concept of OER and discusses different initiatives such as digital libraries, open-access journals, and open courseware. Furthermore, it highlights the main obstacles associated with using OER and provides recommendations on how to overcome them.
