Abstract

Open Educational Resources (OER) includes educational materials provided through electronic media openly for all learners. OER fulfils the right to education of enthusiastic learners of any age and of any region or gender, or religion. But users and creators should take care of some important points while using and creating OER. Some organizations and researchers tried to develop an evaluation system which includes criteria to evaluate OER. Affordable Learning Georgia and the Open Textbook Library of Centre of Open Education provided some criteria to evaluate text in OER which focuses more on accessibility, explanation in short about courses, clarity and using a variety of features properly to satisfy intended learners. Evaluating system also focuses on evaluating OER by accuracy and cultural relevance. Evaluating system guides to creators and users in creating the best part (course) of OER and selecting an appropriate course to use for one’s learning.
