Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic and related lockdowns posed significant problems to K–12 and higher education, necessitating quick actions to maintain pedagogical quality. Responses have ranged from conventional to profoundly novel. Education systems were at the forefront of the COVID-19 pandemic's global disruption and shock. Nearly all countries experienced a significant reduction in face-to-face and formal education as a result of the lockdowns, and in most cases, distance learning quickly replaced it as the "new normal." Maintaining educational objectives and values under such conditions was a major task. Many teachers and students were forced to alter their customary teaching and learning methods due to the COVID-19 outbreak, which also necessitated that they become more proficient in using numerous internet resources. UNESCO emphasized the need for teachers and students to have access to additional high-quality open educational resources (OER). Today's education system has been enhanced by a variety of OERs thanks to the remarkable advancements in ICT. In terms of cost, access, equity, pedagogy, and quality, the effective use of opportunities made available by technological advancements is a significant challenge for educational institutions.
