Ever since the creation of the NCBI Database website in 1994 by legislation Claude Pepper, a US Congressman, sponsored the website resources. This site has currently become the go-to platform for researchers and students all over the world. The NLM operates as a branch of the NIH (NIH). The NCBI is based in Bethesda, Maryland, and its official website's domain name is https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/. GenBank, a database of DNA sequences, the Epigenomics Database, and PubMed, a bibliographic database for biological literature, are all kept up to date on the site. The most important resource of the NCBI is the Basic Local Alignment Tool, or BLAST, which forms the pivot on which the emerging field of bioinformatics lies. Several new resources have also been added, like the BLAST ClusteredNR database and the Comparative Genome Resource (CGR).The objective of this study is to illustrate to beginners the methods of using some of the major resources of this website.Metrics
